Network Marketing Without a System is a Recipe for Failure
I have to tell you I am a huge fan of “systems” and I hope you are to because that is what we will be talking about in this post.
Let me ask you a question if you were going to create a system for your network marketing offer or for that matter any kind of offer what would your system look like?

Introduction to Systems
I have to tell you a story as we start out. Did you know that there has been a few people that have picked up a phone book (as an example) and started calling people about getting into their Business and had huge success.
As a matter of fact, I know one 7 Figure earner who personally cold called over 10K people his first year. That is a lot of people to call every single day plus do followup calls….
I wouldn’t advise that and besides that was quite a while ago and times have changed a lot since then with the exposion of the internet.
So, in this post we are going to be talking about the what, how and why you need to have systems in place if you want to be successful in Network Marketing in 2019 and heck even into the future for that matter.
Think about it, if you are building a team in “whatever” network marketing company and your demographic is people under the age of 60 you need to have a system to reach them.
I mean what will you do if you’re marketing on social media, internet ads, cold calling, email marketing, solo ads, and even more ways to extend your reach.
Heck, probably 80-85 percent of them do not have a phone number in the phone book anymore.
If you’ve been around a while like I have you know things have changed and for some that is just plain hard to get used to…
Why You Can’t Be Successful In Network
Marketing On Your Own
I know for men especially, as I am one of you, we feel we can do anything, fix anything and build anything all by ourselves.
Am I right? You know I am…. 🙂
That fact of the matter is no what gender you are, doing anything on your own is always harder than when you have a tool or system in place that can help you.
Most marketers all this automation or systems or marketing system…
It is even better when you have the right tools, systems and people to help you, but we will talk more about that at another time
Ok, let’s move on…
I want to keep it simple, let’s use a network marketing compensation plan for this example.
- You are at the top
- You enroll your first two, one in your left and right legs
- You enroll the next four in your third level two in your left and right legs.
Now, just imagine that you can do this because you have gotten really good at recruiting and generating leads but while you were doing this those 6 people did not do anything because they don’t know what you know.

Think about how long it would take you to get to 1000 if 3 out of 10 people you contacted joined your network marketing team.
Trust me we are talking a long time, maybe six months to a year if you did what my friend did and called a huge amount of people a day, every day.
But check this out; what if you showed them how to do what you do and coached them to the point they were really good at recruiting people into their business.
How effective do you feel that would be for their business and yours? You starting to get the big picture?
I hope you see what I am talking about here because trying to do the prospecting, contacting, presenting, follow up and finally closing the person or not into your business, is what we call a process or system. Most marketers would call this their marketing funnel…
If your batting average is really low and people are not nice the fear of rejection will kick in. This usually happens when you’re training is weak, you take it way to personal or you do not have a clue about how to communicate the message.
I want to stress this to you because I learned this a long time ago and it has always stuck with me.
“You are the messenger not the message”
Your job is to get them to some kind of content (article, video, web page) that tells them what it is you want them to see, hear or watch NEXT.
I often think of this great book I read once, called Magnetic Sponsoring which I feel is extremely powerful which the term “Attraction Marketing” comes from in my opinion.
But in a nutshell what this concept boils down to is you want to become the hunted instead of being the hunter.
In my opinion this is what a good system does for you in network marketing. This is what we are going to talk about in the last part of this e-book.
Why You Need Systems If You Are Going To Build an Organization in Any Network Marketing Company
You’re probably thinking that; you not a technical person, you do not know how to design websites, what the heck is a squeeze page and why would I need an autoresponder system.
Let me assure you that even if you do not know anything about them it is easy to show you how to use them effectively.
So in this last half of this e-book we are going to discuss how to get peoples name, email and or phone number. We will be talking about how to build a system that you can use to build your team.
Okay, you are thinking, I can build this or do this or whatever right. But stop for a minute and think about what you just said. YOU can do this, but that doesn’t mean that Bill can, you know the guy you just signed up.
Always remember “Your system can be duplicated you can’t.”
Keep in mind the leadership you signed up under when you joined.
Think about the system that was in place when you joined your company.
If you cannot remember then retrace your steps and see the path that you took to get to where you are now.
Write down every step so you know how tier system works.
Let me tell you how it went for me.
- I found a product I was interested in
- I searched for info on that product
- I watch a video this guy created about the product
- I search for the guy online inside Facebook
- I messaged him with some questions about the product
- He responded with a video for me to watch and then get back to him
- I watched the video and let him know I finished
- He responded with a url for me to look at and then get back to him
- I read it and had a couple questions when I got back to him
He responded with a video and his page where I could join if I wanted to do so.
Which I did. Wow, that was complicated… Well actually no it wasn’t. I flowed right through his system and into the business.
But, one thing that you will see is our conversations were all about the product and very little about the business. I kept seeking him out on YouTube and come to find out he had a lot of free marketing training tips that were very helpful in marketing the new business I was starting.
I thought about the process I went through and started to use what I went through with a little help from him.
In reality what you will find is that most people who are successful in Network Marketing have and use systems every day to prospect, present, follow up and close.
Most of them share this with their teams for FREE and sometimes there is a monthly cost if it is an replicated online system they are using.
The point is; you have a system to use that works and is effective at converting people into customers or distributors.
Let me draw a simple system out for you so you understand what it really looks like minus the content….
As you can see it is pretty simple and the good thing for you is, you can have that kind of system in place whenever you decide to make that happen in your business.
Remember sooner is better than later…
